The Foulds Curriculum
At Foulds we believe that it is vital for our children to have a wide and balanced curriculum where the children learn a balance of skills and knowledge.
We want our children to be inspired in their learning, to leave Foulds as inquisitive learners, with a thirst for knowledge. We want our children to leave our lessons hungry to find out more, whatever the topic, whatever the subject.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) in the Reception classes and the 2014 National Curriculum in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6).
The long term curriculum maps, on a two year cycle, can be found under the Contents tab in the Curriculum drop down menu.
Our curriculum works on a two year cycle, with teachers working in four planning teams (EYFS; Years 1 and 2; Years 3 and 4; Year 5 and 6). We plan in this way so that our children cover the same work across the year groups, but do not repeat themes whilst in mixed aged classes.
Odd cycle - taught in year beginning Autumn 2019, Autumn 2021 etc
Even cycle - taught in year beginning Autumn 2018, Autumn 2020 etc
